Are you looking for a Childcare Center & Preschool for your kiddo? We all want to make a well-informed decision about where we send our children while we are at work. This can sometimes be a difficult decision! If you’re going to enroll your kiddo in a childcare center, you’ll want to make sure that you’ve chosen the right facility. That’s why I want to take a moment to introduce myself and my family to you.
My name is Tanya Murray & I am the Owner & Executive Director at Busy Minds Academy.
For starters, I grew up in Wisconsin. Yes, I do love cheese, especially cheese curds! 🧀 Also known as squeaky cheese! You know it’s a good cheese curd when you bite into it and hear a squeak from the cheese. 😉

After high school, I moved to Missouri to attend college at Missouri Southern State University. I met and married my sweetheart while in college & then graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology in 2004. After college, I focused on my career as a mother. My first son was born in 2004 and then we had another and another and another and another! I’m now the mother of 5 children ranging in ages from 9 to 17. I have 3 boys and 2 girls. We spend lots of time together as a family! We have lived in Bella Vista for 16 years and love it here. 🏡 We live on 12 acres near the Bella Vista Boys & Girls Club. Actually, it’s right next door to Busy Minds which is very convenient!
I have a dog named Ginger & 30 chickens. 🐓 Ginger & the chickens get along very well! I plant a vegetable garden every spring and preserve 200 quarts of tomatoes every year. I eat salted tomatoes like an apple & just typing that makes my mouth water! Last year I planted 75 tomato plants! 🍅 I also plant cantaloupe and watermelon which grow very well here. I’m looking forward to gardening with our students at Busy Minds!
Being a mother has been one of my greatest blessings and accomplishments. ❤️ I have learned more about human behavior and development as a mother than I ever did in college! I cherish children not just as the children that they are but as the adults they are learning to become.
If we don’t stand up for children, then we don’t stand for much. -Marian Wright Edelman

Many people have asked me if starting a childcare center was my dream. The question took me off-guard the first time or two as I didn’t know how to answer that question. I wondered if it could be my dream if it hasn’t always been my dream. What I’ve decided is that it hasn’t always been my dream but it is my dream now.
“If you can dream it, you can do it.” -Walt Disney
I can do it! I’m passionate about opening a childcare center & the love, acceptance, and opportunities to learn that it will give the children. I’m eager to provide a safe & peaceful environment for parents to bring their children. I’m ecstatic that we’ll have a massive fenced play area for the children to create, play, explore, socialize, learn, and run, run, run!
As I’ve been remodeling the facility, I’ve been very careful to choose finishing touches that are more like a home and less like a school. Don’t get me wrong, Busy Minds is a school, but I want it to feel like a home. Some of the ways we achieve a home-feel is having our infant & toddler rooms being a shoe-free zone. Just like how they take their shoes off at home! Students will also have responsibilities when it comes to keeping their space tidy and tasks throughout the day including at snack and lunch time. For example, helping set the table or pouring their own drink.

It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do themselves that will make them successful human beings. -Ann Landers
Above all, I’m confident that I can create a space where children feel motivated to become their best selves. 🥇
