The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see.

I have a total of 12 years professional and in-home early childhood development experience; four of which have been here in Arkansas. A child’s mind is not a container to be filled, but rather a fire to be kindled. Dorothea Brande

Assistant Preschool Teacher

My favorite way of learning is through hands on experiences. I believe that children have just as much to teach me as I do them! They teach me everyday value life and to always be myself. That being said, it has always been a dream of mine to be a kindergarten teacher! I am currently working on my Child Development Associate and in the Spring I will starting college for my bachelors degree in teaching. My goal everyday is to teach the children that it’s okay to fall, but you always get back up and try again. My motto is to live each day as if there is no tomorrow. My parents are my best friends! They taught me that making memories with people you love is of upmost importance.
The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value. I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress and grow.

My family and I recently moved to NWA from California. We absolutely love living in Bella Vista. Most of our weekends are spent hanging out with our cousins here and their kids, exploring the trails, parks or local food spots. I am the oldest of 3 girls and I have 2 nieces and a nephew. I have a degree in Liberal Arts and have been working with children since I was a teenager. I have a passion for education and working with little ones is the best. I am also a marathon runner, so having the Back 40 trails nearby has been a runner’s dream come true! I love to read, create wood working projects and crochet in my free time.
Speak to your children as if they are the wisest, kindest, most beautiful and magical humans on earth, for what they believe is what they will become.

I have lived in Northwest Arkansas since I was two years old. I graduated from Bentonville High School and then Northwest Arkansas Community College with my Associate of Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been working with children ages birth through five for almost five years now and early childhood education is my passion! I currently live in Bella Vista with my husband and our three dogs, Ellie, Charlie, and 3-legged Piper. My husband is a mountain biker and I ride along on my electric cruiser so you’ll probably see us at Coler Mountain Bike Preserve most weekends!
Childhood is not a race to see how quickly a child can read, write and count. it is a small window of time to learn and develop at the pace that is right for each individual child. Earlier is not better.

Children are not things to be molded, but people to be unfolded.

My family and I moved to Bella Vista a year ago but we’ve lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for the last 8 years. I have two daughters; ages 6 and 11. Most of my free time is spent with them but I also enjoy cooking, reading, and exercising. I began my journey in the childcare industry 11 years ago. Working with children has always been my passion, it’s more than just a job for me. It’s such a joy watching them learn and grow. I’m so thankful that I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of so many children’s lives over the years, knowing that I’m making a positive difference.
Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity.

I am the 2nd oldest of 6 in my family. I have been babysitting since I was 12 and have always loved working with kids. I graduated from Bentonville High School and completed a semester at Southern Virginia University. I decided to take a break from school to work and then go on a mission for my church. After my mission I plan on going back to school to study nursing. I have a cat named Luna and when I have free time I like to swim and hike. (The ocean is my happy place)
Play is the form of learning that is fun.

I’m 16 years old and currently and junior in high school. I am a photographer and love taking pictures of people. I’m currently enrolled in a photography class at school. I have also been working with kids for about 3 years now. I first started out babysitting when I was 13 then I started working at daycares which I love. Children make me so happy, I love seeing them smile and laugh and I absolutely love playing with them. After high school I plan to work in the photography field but right now I’m just enjoying playing and working with kids!
Today they might be in your classroom driving you to insanity, but one day, when they are all grown up, they will remember the teacher who never gave up on them.

I spent 15 years dancing, playing instruments & being in various choir classes. I love music & art related things. I’m very passionate about humans being kind, children being adventurous, & caring for animals. My dream is to one day own a huge animal rescue. I enjoy spending my time with my husband since he’s my best friend. I love laughing & that’s usually what we do together. Watching my own child’s growth since the school opened last year has been incredible & I am excited to watch the other kiddos’ minds grow by exploring & having fun each day that they are there. Ms. Lindsay

Music Teacher

Lindsay Burnett holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Brigham Young University. Currently, she sings professionally with the local SONA Singers and SONA Chamber singers. She has been teaching voice and piano lessons for 20 years. She also plays the organ in her church services every Sunday and works a lot with the children’s program and accompanies them singing from time to time. Lindsay lives in Bella Vista with her husband and 4 children. When her youngest daughter was in preschool, she taught music to the preschoolers at Little Sprouts and loved it! She is so excited to be a part of Busy Minds Academy and teach music to your children! Music is such an important part of helping a child’s brain develop quickly, especially at such a young age. It will help them in all areas of development; intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. Each week, I will be teaching exciting songs to learn and dance to. Melodies, beats, and rhythm are just a few of the musical skills they will learn. You will watch your little ones as they develop a love for music and movement and share that with you in your home.
Music is a more potent instrument than any other for education, because rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul. -Plato
